*Special feature post* - Miss Jade (current teacher)

So, just like that, after being on furlough for 5 months, I’m back to working my 9-6 job and dancing 3 days. All within the space of 3 weeks, which was a big shock to the system.

After doing the online classes, I was more than ready to get to the dance school’s new location and be able to have more space than my bedroom to dance in!

I was a little apprehensive about coming back due to all the rules regarding the Covid outbreak and how everyone would deal with it. But, thankfully, it went off without any problems. And, boy, was it good to be back. To be able to see people in the flesh and not through a computer screen. And to be able to dance flat out again and have a laugh with everyone while doing it at the same time.

Personally, I was most looking forward to being able to get involved with the Senior Tap classes again, as it’s been a good few years since I’ve been able to take part. I’ve also made it my mission to finally complete my Tap exams by doing my Senior Gold exam. We will see how long that takes me to achieve as my body, let alone my feet, hasn’t moved that fast in a very long time.

Along with everyone else, I’m looking forward to things going back to normal, if that will even be a thing, or if this will be the new normal.

The thing I’m looking forward to the most, is to be able to put on our annual show as it will be lovely to see everyone’s hard work pay off, even with the many hurdles that we have overcome in the past year.  Also, to see the girls doing smaller performances and events throughout the year, as I’m not always able to take part due to other work commitments, so it’s always nice to see them perform and see their work pay off!

Over and out, beautiful people.

Miss Jade xx
