The start of the autumn term is upon us and although it seems like such a long time since we have seen everybody, we also can’t believe it is already September and we are returning to classes.
We have been extremely busy behind the scenes getting everything ready for our reopening on Saturday. The ballet barres have been moved into the new premises, the new tap flooring has arrived, our non-contact temperature checkers are packed and ready, the list goes on. But the most important thing is that we are all looking forward to getting back to class and we have everything in place to make it as safe as possible. All our procedures have been sent out to everybody who has re-enrolled, but they can also be found on the home and about pages of the website. We would like to stress once again, that due to our Covid-19 procedures, we will only be allowing pupils into the premises who have completed registration forms. This rule applies to all past members of the school as well as new. If you have not completed a registration form, and you would like to attend lessons during this term then please download a registration form from our website or contact us via the contact page or social media links and we can send a form across to you.
We would also like to take this opportunity to remind you of our new address: Brooksward School, Tower Drive, Neath Hill, MK14 6JZ.
For some of us, we have been fortunate enough to already get back to some sort of normality, as some of our teachers and senior students performed at Stowe House over the bank holiday weekend. It did not feel like it had been 15 months since we had last performed with Arcadian Opera at all and like always we had a wonderful time, this time in a production of Dido and Aeneas. Battling the elements, with persistent rain on Thursday, storms on Friday, high winds on Saturday and then a glimpse of the sun on Sunday; we danced four pieces in total, surrounded by the fantastic orchestra and chorus. These events are always a pleasure to be a part of and we very much look forward to hopefully being involved with the company’s next production in 2021, The Magic Flute. It has been a wonderful opportunity to perform and we hope that we will be able to liaise with Stantonbury, once the schools reopen next week, so that you will also have the chance to perform again soon.
If you have any queries please get in touch, otherwise we are very much looking forward to seeing you all this coming Saturday. We have one more visit to Brooksward on Wednesday to ensure all our equipment is ready and have our fire and safety induction and then we will be open again!
